The CO alarm is designed to detect carbon monoxide gas produced from incomplete combustion of fuels. It has a response time of 50 PPM (50-90 minutes), 100 PPM (10-40 minutes), and 300 PPM (less than 3 minutes).
Carbon monoxide (CO) is a colorless, odorless, tasteless gas produced by burning fuels. It can bind to hemoglobin in the blood, reducing oxygen circulation. High levels of CO can be fatal within minutes.
The GTC-2968X CO alarm must be installed by a qualified electrician.
During normal operation, the green LED flashes approximately once per minute, indicating that the alarm is powered and functional. The unit performs a self-check every minute.
It is recommended to test your CO alarm at least once a month by pressing the Test/Reset button. Ensure that all interconnected alarms respond properly.
The CO alarm is warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for five years from the date of manufacture.
