Exciting Product Update! The New Memory D Feature

Introducing the new Memory D-Feature:

The smarter way to diagnose smoke alarm triggers

At Red Smoke Alarms, our mission is to provide smarter, safer, and more reliable solutions for homeowners and electricians, so we are constantly improving our products with new innovations. That’s why we are thrilled to unveil the latest breakthrough in our product range – The New Memory D-Feature. This cutting-edge addition to our smoke alarm technology takes the guesswork out of diagnosing issues, and determining which alarm has triggered. In this blog post, we will explore how the Memory D-Feature works, the key benefits, and why it’s a must-have for your next installation.

When an alarm sounds, especially in interconnected systems, it’s often difficult to pinpoint which alarm has caused the event.

This can lead to:

  • Unnecessary replacements: Replacing alarms that were not the source of the problem
  • Higher warranty claims: Devices may be incorrectly deemed faulty when they function correctly.
  • Wasted time: Electricians and homeowners spend wasted time, attempting to troubleshoot the issue.

With all of this to consider, we developed the Memory D-Feature to simplify the diagnostic process and improve user experience.

The Memory D Feature provides a simple, reliable way to determine which alarm triggered an event.

With this feature, you can:

  • Quickly diagnose events – Identify triggering alarm and the root cause of the event, without second-guessing
  • Minimise unnecessary replacements– Avoid replacing alarms that are not at fault
  • Ensure all alarms are working correctly and as intended.

So, how does it work?

  1. Simply press the smoke alarms TEST button
  2. Listen for the “D” sound.
      1. If there has been an event, the number of beeps determines the event.
      2. If there is no “D” sound present, there is no previous event, and you can move on to test the next device.
  3. The memory will remain for 14 days provided the alarm is left on.
  4. If the alarm is turned off it will indefinitely hold the memory until it us turned back on.  Once turned back on the memory will remain for one hour.
